Shikumen lane houses are a vital aspect of Shanghai’s heritage, and this project aims to preserve these historically significant structures while transforming the interior for a modern lifestyle.

While much of the ground floor was preserved, the master bedroom’s  cathedral ceiling was fully made use of by installing a  new mezzanine level, freeing up the bottom level for a more comfortable space.
